Built Around the Existing Structure
Shower Tile and Waterproofing
Many Dennis homes were built in the mid-twentieth century on framing that predates modern deflection standards. A shower installed over a floor that flexes will stress the bond layer, open grout joints, and eventually break the waterproofing seal. The tile rarely fails first.
We check subfloor deflection and framing before quoting any shower project in Dennis. Work is built on Schluter Kerdi-Board panels, which are waterproof through the board itself, with a liquid membrane added underneath as a second independent layer.
That preparation happens before the first tile is ordered. A shower waterproofed this way does not develop the slow leaks that rot framing and subfloor over the course of several years.
We also handle bathroom floor and wall tile, kitchen backsplash and floor tile, and tile repair and replacement throughout Dennis. Each project starts with the same structural review so the finish layer has something reliable to bond to.
The decisions made before the first tile is set determine whether the shower is still watertight in ten years.
